SELECTION PROCEDURE
The procedure for selection of candidates for appointment are as follows:
- To ensure good quality staff at Army Public School Shillong, there is an elaborate system of screening that is done every year.
- Teaching, Non- teaching and ADM staff at APSS are selected through LSB (Local Selection Board).
- Every year in the month of August/September HQ AWES notifies about the Online Screening Test (OST) in its website for all appointments of teachers.
- Interviews are held under the aegis of Board of Administration (BOA).
- The school conducts LSB for selection for Teaching, Non-Teaching and ADM Staff on term-based appointments (for a period of four years. These boards are held in the month of December-February. In the fourth year, term-based employees may be considered for regular appointment on the basis of their performance and availability of vacancy as per the school rules.
- LSB is also conducted subsequently for selection of Teaching, Non-Teaching and Core ADM Staff in the month of May/June for Adhoc appointments tenure not exceeding beyond the last day of current academic session.
- Suitable advertisements shall be published in Newspaper/School website giving out the list of vacancies as per category of staff.
